About the Coalition

The Coalition to Protect the Rights of New York’s Dually Eligible (CPRNYDE) is a diverse group of interests, agencies and perspectives working to shape New York’s Managed Long-Term Care (MLTC) and Fully Integrated Duals Advantage (FIDA) programs to provide quality care for the state’s unique population of dual eligibles—people enrolled in both Medicare and Medicaid.
Coalition Priorities
  • Develop standards for an integrated appeals process, plan selection and provider network adequacy, quality standards and data reporting, rate setting and reimbursement, plan benefit design, and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA);
  • Create a statewide, independent advocacy entity that strengthens community-based organizations to provide individual assistance to dual-eligibles enrolled in managed care organizations, as well as identify and solve systemic issues;
  • Ensure that timely information drawing upon beneficiaries’ actual experiences in managed care is available both to government agencies and beneficiary advocates; and
  • Educate consumers and the professionals who serve dually eligible beneficiaries about MLTC and FIDA.
