Policy Priorities

The Coalition to Protect the Rights of New York’s Dually Eligible (CPRNYDE) works to improve quality of care for New York State’s dually eligible population by working with various stakeholders to:
  • Develop standards for an integrated appeals process, plan selection and provider network adequacy, quality standards and data reporting, rate setting and reimbursement, plan benefit design, and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA);
  • Create a statewide, independent advocacy entity that strengthens community-based organizations to provide individual assistance to dual-eligibles enrolled in managed care organizations, as well as identify and solve systemic issues;
  • Ensure that timely information drawing upon beneficiaries’ actual experiences in managed care is available both to government agencies and beneficiary advocates; and
  • Educate consumers and the professionals who serve dually eligible beneficiaries about MLTC and FIDA.
The coalition actively advocates on behalf of dual eligibles at all levels of policymaking, both in New York State and with federal agencies. A collection of our advocacy resources can be found below.
